BAGC Local Rules - Updated 2019
1. Out of Bounds (Rule 18)
The following areas are Out of Bounds
a) Beyond any boundary wall, fence or hedge.
b) Beyond the white stakes to the right of the 1st hole.
c) Beyond the white stakes to the right and rear of the 9th tee and the side of the 12th tee.
d) Beyond the white stakes to the rear of the 18th green. NOTE: this area includes the Clubhouse, Car Park, Practice putting green (as marked by posts and chains), flower beds and all artificially surfaced areas in the surrounding area.
2. Abnormal Course Conditions (Rule 16.1)
a) All artificially surfaced roads and paths on the course to be are treated as immovable obstructions, relief is obtained under Rule 16.1b.
b) Sprinkler Heads close to the putting green, relief is obtained under Rule 16.1b. If an immovable obstruction is on the line of play, and is within one club-length of the putting green, and is within one club-length of the ball. Exception: no relief if the chosen line of play is clearly unreasonable.
c) Deep tractor marks, not mere indentations, caused by course machinery, relief is obtained under Rule 16.1b.
d) Golf course signage and furniture, relief is obtained under Rule 16.1b.
3. Abnormal Course Conditions – No Play Zone (Rule 16.1f)
a) Protection of young trees identified by stakes, guards or markings – if such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 16.1f and Rule 14.3b. The ball may be cleaned when lifted.
b) Areas enclosed by blue lines or stakes, relief is obtained under Rule 16.1b.
c) Practice bunker and practice green to the left of the 17th green, relief is obtained under Rule 16.1b.
4. Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
a) Penalty areas are defined by red stakes, Rule 17.1d applies.
